날은 춥고 어둡고 쓸쓸하여라

비는 내리고 바람은 그치지 않고,

허물어지는 벽에는 담쟁이 덩굴,

바람이 불 때마다 잎은 날려가네,

날은 춥고, 쓸쓸하네.

내 인생도 춥고, 어둡고, 쓸쓸하네,

비는 내리고 바람은 그치지 않네.

내 생각은 허물어지는 과거의 담벽에 붙어

불어오는 질풍에 젊음의 꿈을 날려 보냈네.

날은 어둡고, 적막하네.

슬픈 가슴이여, 조용하라!

불평은 그만하라!

먹구름 뒤에는 밝은 태양이 비치고 있다.

그대의 운명도 예외는 아닌 것!

모든 사람의 운명에 얼마의 비는 내리는 것,

인생이 어둡고 쓸쓸할 때도 있는 것!
